SNF Shark is a research tool for analysing skilled-nursing facilities. Most of what it shows is public government data about facilities, not about you. This page covers the personal data we do hold.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, and a display name if you set one. Accounts and sign-in are handled by Supabase Auth.
  • What you create. Portfolios and watchlists you build, and any financial statements or other files you upload to them.
  • Email addresses you invite. See below.

Facility data (CMS, HUD, and state Medicaid publications) is public-domain government data. It is not personal data about our users.

Email addresses you invite

When you share a portfolio, you enter someone's email address. We store that address for one purpose: so that person can be given access to the portfolio you shared. We use it for nothing else — we do not add it to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share it.

An invitation only becomes access if the invited person signs in and accepts it. Until then it is pending, and a pending invitation is deleted after 30 days if it is not accepted. Once deleted, the address is gone from our systems unless that person has their own account with us.

The person who sent an invitation can cancel it at any time from the portfolio's Team tab. If someone invited you and you don't want the access, you can decline it, which removes the invitation.

Who else sees your data

  • People you share with. If you share a portfolio, the people you invite and accept can see it — including anything you uploaded to it. You control that list.
  • Service providers that run the product for us — including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Slack, which receives a notification when you send feedback (including the reply address you give us, if any). They process data on our behalf.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your uploaded financials to train models or to build any product feature outside your own account.

Deleting your data

You can delete a portfolio, its uploads, and any invitation you sent from inside the app. To have your account and its data removed, or to ask us to delete an invitation that named your email address, contact us using the feedback button in the app and say what you want deleted. We will confirm when it is done.
